HEAVEN RELEASE & IN THE NEWS

Mike Bell at the Calgary Herald took some time to write a pretty awesome story about us:
Veteran Calgary indie rockers find their Heaven in Night Committee
Tonight is the release party for Heaven at the Palomino. We're playing with Napalmpom (because we always play with Napalmpom, and we always play with the because they're the best) and Betrayers & Lad Mags, two excellent bands from Edmonton who we're very into.
Here's the Facebook link for the event. Don't watch the Blackhawks game. Come to the Palomino. Actually, come early to the Palomino, where we'll be watching the Blackhawks game.

A stupid response to a real issue that this satirical piece was meant to show: that no one wants to be treated like an animal in a petting zoo (touching hair/skin without asking), as if their skin color defines their experience, like stereotypes are automatically true (I'm Black so I MUST listen to whatever Rapper is out right now or I must have grown up in the hood), nor do I want to be treated as if my race automatically connects me to whatever Black person they see on TV. There is no need to PROVE you're connected to Blackness ("I'm down with Black people 'cause ***insert stereotypical Black lingo/archetype/friend name here**) or
